Waqas is a Lahore, Pakistan multidisciplinary artist, and his art practices blend Theatre, Performative Storytelling, and Photography. He is founder & director of a social enterprise named دیپ ناؤ (Deep Now ) that works for the provision of education through the medium of arts. He completed his MPhil in Education Leadership and Management from LUMS, and he also received Shaila and Tahir Andrabi Leadership & Service Award, 2020. He received Prince Claus Seeds Cultural Practitioner Award, 2023. In the medium of Digital Media Art his practices revolve around photographic and documentary works. He has been working on a long-term documentary project on the folk toys of Punjab. He worked on a documentary for Lahore Biennale Foundation Virtual Museum titled, “Dastan-e-Urdu” the work documented 75 years of Urdu in Pakistan. Moreover, in the medium of Performance Art, he has been doing Street Theatre since last 10 years and conducting Performative Storytelling under the banner of دیپ ناؤ. He initiated Public Theatre Performances at LUMS in collaboration with Gurmani Centre of Languages and Literature. He organized, directed and produced short plays to perform at a public premise called Khokha Natak. He often writes opinion-eds and book reviews in different magazines. He sometimes writes poems in Punjabi, Urdu & English that have been published in different national and international magazines.  He is an advocate of Education through Arts. His artwork revolves around cultural substance, identity, decolonisation, social documentary and evolution of environment.
